Inmate Support Programs
The Inmates Support Program is dedicated to providing pastoral, emotional, and practical support to inmates, their families, and correctional staff. The program recognises the complex challenges faced within correctional environments and seeks to foster dignity, encouragement, and meaningful connection.
-
Focuses on supporting both prisoners and prison staff, in collaboration with the St. Silas’ Free Spirit Program. Through this partnership, SMOS provides gifts and spiritual resources to inmates participating in the program, as well as to correctional staff, acknowledging their role and wellbeing within a demanding environment.
-
Extends care to the families of inmates. On behalf of prisoners, gifts are prepared and sent to their families, maintaining relational bonds and offering tangible expressions of care. Where appropriate, pastoral support is also offered to families navigating the social and emotional impacts of incarceration.
Participation is open to individuals committed to respectful and ethical service. The Inmates Support Program seeks to strengthen relationships, promote restoration, and provide compassionate support across all those affected by incarceration.
